| Description | This unit deals with issues of place, people and politics in north Australia from the perspective of its Indigenous and Post contact communities. It examines the challenges the region has faced in the development of appropriate economic, legal and political systems and the development of its resources. Finally, it celebrates the cultural and geographic uniqueness of the region. The major focus is on the Northern Territory but some attention is given to the north of Western Australia and north Queensland. Note: This unit may require Internet access. |
